SMM has come to a close.

This was a very successful for Lilley and Gillie with a phenomenally busy stand.

We wish to put a big thank you out to all of our existing distributors that came to visit, as well as the many new people who came to see us.

On display was our Navmaster ECDIS, which is attracting all the more attention as the deadline for mandatory fitting is closing in.

For the second show in a row our valued service department continued to promote our proud role as the UK Yokogowa service agent.  Our magnetic compass, which we have been making for over 200 years, was also proudly presented on our stand.  This includes our fully type approved Mk2000S and reduced height Mk2002S.

Once again we would like to put a big thankyou to all people who came to see us, both existing customers, new distributors or anybody who came for a chat!

This is the 8th time that Lilley and Gillie have exhibited at the largest Maritime Expo in the world and we are looking forward to returning in 2018.

Then, I was very quickly introduced to a former owner and MD of the company, who gave me a copy of a report he had written, which demonstrated the importance and unique properties of the magnetic compass. It was a good lesson in understanding the importance and functionality of both electronic and traditional methods of navigation and one that continues to be relevant today.

Whilst this is now 16 years ago, the relevance is still valid.
